Do you suspect your partner has been cheating? If so, you might be tempted to check their WhatsApp chat history. Whether you’re concerned about the future of your relationship or just need confirmation that what you’re hearing from others isn’t true, looking through your partner’s chat history on WhatsApp can help ease some of your concerns. Follow this guide to learn how to easily check your partner’s chat history on WhatsApp!

Go through your phone settings

1. Go to the settings on your phone and scroll down until you find the apps section.

2. Find the app called WhatsApp and tap on it to open it up. 3.Tap on Account. 3. Then tap on Privacy from the drop-down menu that pops up, then press Chat Settings. 4. Now, you will see a list of your contacts who are also using Whatsapp and their chat history with you will be displayed in chronological order 5. (if they have allowed their chat history to be shown). 6. You can scroll through their chat history by tapping on the little circular arrow that is pointing down at their name – this will take you to older conversations so you can read them too! 6.
Open the whatsapp application on your phone.
The first step is to go to the Messages section of your phone and then click on the individual you want to spy on. This will bring up their chat history in chronological order with the most recent at the top. To get a sense of how much they’ve been chatting, look at the number next to each message – this is how many times that person has messaged this person. If you see something interesting and want to know more about it, simply click on it.

Go to Settings, tap on Account and then tap on Chat Backup

After you have backed up your chat history, tap on Show backup code. You will be shown a string of 12 numbers and letters. This is the backup code for your chat history. You can enter this code in any smartphone to restore your chat history.

On backup screen, tap on Show backup code

It is important to always keep your password and backup code in a secure place. It will be needed if you ever need to reset your phone to factory settings or if you lose it. You can find the backup code by tapping on Settings > Backup & reset > Back up my data. The last option on the list is Show backup code, which will display an alphanumeric code of 16 digits.

Use that code to retrieve all your chats

The first thing you’ll want to do is open your app and tap on the button in the top left corner that says hamburger. Once you’ve tapped it, a second menu will drop down with an option called settings. Tap on that and then scroll down until you find chat settings. Tap on this, which will bring up a window with three options at the top. The first one is called Chat history and the second one is called Chat backups. The third option has to do with deleting chats. If your partner isn’t using an iPhone (and doesn’t have a backup), then their chats are automatically deleted after ten days.

Check whether you want to change the default settings for Chat Backup Code

The first thing you want to do is change the default settings of chat backup codes. This is because when a chat gets backed up, it sends a message with a code to the phone number registered on your account. If this number has changed, someone who knows the new number can get access to all of your chats. To change the setting go into Settings>Chat Settings>Backup Options and uncheck Enable Backup Code.
This also means that you have to enable backup for every chat individually by tapping on Enable Backup in a chat screen (not in Settings). This way only one person will be able to get access to your chats without having access to your phone or knowing your new phone number.
